I Heart Faces, "Pets Only"

This week at I Heart Faces is "Pets Only" week. Apart of the theme, they are allowing any animal, besides a pet to be entered into the challenge!

I went through all my photos and came across this one. I took this photo at the Oregon Zoo. I really enjoyed visiting this Orangutan. After having a starring contest with me, he ended up walking off and then hid underneath some newspapers and a box! He was really sweet! I can't wait to visit him again in the summer!

I used Picnik.com to edit my photo.

Happy Holidays!

Since I will be busy enjoying my time on vacation visiting family for the holidays, I might not get to update my blog while I am gone! So, just in case you don't hear from me until January, Kevin and I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and we hope you have a wonderful New Year! :)

Love, Jessica and Kevin

My Love: Vintage

Last weekend, before Jamie went back to Virginia, we spent the day shopping, especially at a couple of my favorite Vintage/Antique stores in town. Both shops were so friendly, they even let me take pictures, so I told them I would post their shops on my blog. Hey, that's free advertisement! So... I would first like to introduce you to:

Vintage Hardware in Astoria, OR.
They have the cutest vintage Christmas ornaments! I ended up buying four of them!

I love the old pieces of jewelery, the old sled they had on display, and I love the old ice skates.
There's so much treasure you can find in this store! We spent a while in there admiring everything!

I would also like to introduce you to:
Ambiance in Astoria, OR.

I'm obsessed with this store. I've bought many pieces from here such as a tea set, frames, coasters, and cute kitchen hooks. I love all of them! They have so many things I would love to buy! They also have old cameras on display, which I love! I admire all of the black and white pieces and have been collecting them slowly, such as in the below picture...I hope to get the chandelier pictures! Very shabby!

After our shopping, we checked out one of my favorite galleries in town called, Lunar Boy Gallery. It has the most unique and fun art on display! We also ran into Santa and Mrs. Clause in town and Santa insisted that we sit on his lap for our picture! They were lots of fun! We also had a fun lunch together.
Good times! Good times!

"Sweet Dreams"

This week at I Heart Faces photo challenge is
"Sweet Dreams"

I came across this photo and laughed. This is a photo of my husband on the left with his friend on the right sleeping after a long day. I just added some holiday cheer to it! Hope you like it!

They are two reindeer, who fell asleep after a long winter night helping Santa, dreaming of Christmas day! I made it look like it is evidence that is being mailed back to Santa! There's my story to the photo, not that it really needed one!

Happy Holidays everyone!

It's Snowing!

It's SNOWING and it looks so PRETTY coming down!
I read a text message from Kevin saying it is snowing outside, I ran to the window, and why...yes it was! I went out to the porch to try to catch some snow flakes with my tongue, but I got too cold, so I went back in! I wish Kevin were here to share our first winter snow this year together, but he's at work. At least he told me, or I would have not known! So...in a way, we did!

My Holiday Photo

I love the features and fun things Picnik.com has to offer!
It really is a fun site to go to, especially to edit photos!
Anyways...I now have a holiday profile picture! :)

A Wife's Love...

This is way too funny!

The awesome power of a wife's love

A very old man lay dying in his bed. In death's
doorway, he suddenly smelled the aroma of his favorite chocolate chip
cookie wafting up the stairs.

He gathered his remaining strength and lifted
himself from the bed. Leaning against the wall, he slowly made his way out
of the bedroom, and with even greater effort forced himself down the
stairs, gripping the railing with both hands.

With labored breath, he leaned against the door
frame, gazing into the kitchen. Were it not for death's agony, he would
have thought himself already in heaven.

There, spread out on newspapers on the kitchen
table were literally hundreds of his favorite chocolate chip cookies.

Was it heaven? Or was it one final act of heroic
love from his devoted wife, seeing to it that he left this world a happy
man?

Mustering one great final effort, he threw
himself toward the table. The aged and withered hand, shaking, made its
way to a cookie at the edge of the table, when he was suddenly smacked
with a spatula by his wife.

"Stay out of those," she said. "They're for the
funeral.

I'm sad...2 days left with Jamie

My sister Jamie is going back to Virginia on Sunday.
I'm really going to miss her.
I'm sad. :(
I'll miss her lots.
I hope we spend those last two days laughing hard and having fun!
